Really Look at Yourself

by Sally
(UK)

Some times if I really badly crave something that does not fit into my diet (to put it nicely!) I tell myself I can have it if I still want it after looking at myself naked in front of a full length mirror for a few minutes.

So far, I haven't still wanted it afterwards :)

The mirror does not lie

Good tip on the mirror. The mirror, scale, and tape measure are good ways to keep yourself in check.

Risky

I guess if it works for you then that is great but Im not sure that the ends justify the means. Looking at yourself naked in the mirror just to force yourself not to eat that fried chicken may have more damaging affects on ones self esteem which of course ultimatly will draw the person back to food in order to medicate that self loathing. The real secret is to diet properly, not subject yourself to self laothing excercizes just to force yourself not too eat. If you are dieting correctly you should not be hungry and if you have retrained your body to eat more fruits and veggies you shouldnt even want those fatty foods in the first place.
