GNC 100% Whey Protein

GNC 100% Whey Protein

GNC 100% Whey Protein

Getting enough Protein in your diet can be tough to do with normal foods alone. Unless you eat a good serving of meat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner you’re probably not getting enough. One option is protein powders. I have tried a few brands and settled on GNC’s 100% Whey Protein. Mostly my decision was based on availability and variety. There’s a GNC store just about everywhere I go and they have a bunch of different flavors of the stuff. Chocolate, Chocolate Caramel, Vanilla, Cookies and Cream, and Banana are the flavors I have tried. Chocolate is very rich and chocolaty, Chocolate Caramel is very sweet at first but is my favorite, Vanilla is kind of sweet and plain and is my least favorite, Cookies and Cream is better than Vanilla but similar, and Banana is pretty good if you like the imitation banana flavor like you get from the banana runts candies. I have found mixing Banana and Chocolate makes for a very good combo. Also, a little Irish Cream makes an insanely good treat. Other flavors I have not tried but am aware of are Mixed Berry, Orange Cream, and Strawberry. Price is a little high if you buy straight retail at $39.99 for 3 lbs but if you take advantage of GNC’s buy one get one half price deals that they run almost all the time and buy them two at a time you can get two flavors for $60 which comes to about $0.70 per serving. Also they have the mega 6lb tubs too for $59.99 that you can cash in on the BOGO deal if you use a ton of the stuff. I like to mix mine with 16oz of milk which makes a serving around 290 calories. The protein is about 130 calories alone with 2-2.5g Fat, 1.5g Sat. Fat, 2g sugars, and 70mg of cholesterol. Some people say it doesn’t mix well. I have found if you mix it in and wait a minute or so and then mix again it blends very well but I kinda like the lumps. It just takes a second for the protein to absorb some of the liquid so it can finish dissolving. DO NOT try and mix it with a hot drink. I tried that and it made a disgusting clumpy mess. I have a shake with milk every morning for breakfast and another when I get home from work. Over all I like this product and will continue using it.
