Diets are bad Diet is good
by: Rob

Instead of focusing on a diet plan that has rules and limits you to certian things try focusing on correct portion size and calorie intake at first. Once you get that under control you can begin focusing on better food/fuel for your body. Try making little lifestyle changes instead of major ones that are hard to stick with. Remember how many months or years it took you to learn the way you eat now and get to the size you are and know that it will take time to change. Good luck and stick with it!!

Lifestyle change, not diet
by: Anonymous

I would suggest that you not look into any of the fad diet programs, but instead look into making life style changes. One suggestion would be a program like Sugar Busters.
Instead of being a diet, the doctors who worte the book looked at how different foods make the human body react. Which foods encourage you to burn fat and which foods make you store fat, etc. There is no calorie counting, just making different food choices when you eat.
I followed this religiously for about 9 months and excersised 15-20 minutes a day/4 days a week and lost about 30 pounds. I really wish I'd stuck with it.
