Is This a Sound Workout Plan?

by Robby

My goal is to gain some muscle while mostly burning body fat. I've been reading a lot of material on this website, but I'm still not sure if my current workout plan is OK...it is the following:

Day 1: Chest/Tri's and then Cardio
Day 2: Bi's/Lat's/Shoulders and then Cardio
Day 3: Legs/Abs and then Cardio
Day 4: Chest/Tri's and then Cardio
Day 5: Bi's/Lat's/Shoulders and then Cardio
Day 6: Legs/Abs and then Cardio
Day 7: Rest

So that's one week, and it just repeats. There are six days of working out in a row...however I figure there is ample rest for each muscle group.

Also, I've heard 1g protein per lb of body weight intake is how much is needed? Is that true?

Thanks!
